We are not a typical “puppy factory” breeder
We are not of those “kennel breeders” nor do we recommend buying a working guardian dog from a “kennel breeder”. We keep an active guardian stock over our farm animals 24/7. All of our dogs and pups receive appropriate exposure to the livestock-guarding situation from a very early age which is very important in learning the guardian ways from their parents. We holistically consider our dogs development and raise them and their pups by socializing them well on our farm. Our dogs and pups are extremely loyal, affectionate but always well on guard to protect the farm and its inhabitants. They are handled and interacted by adults as well as our children on daily bases.
Although these amazing dogs have an innate natural tendency to protect and guard, early exposure to livestock, children, family and training from their mom and/or dad is crucial for their pups. We work daily with our pups and have them exposed and ready for the livestock of your choice. You can let us know which animal exposure is mostly needed for your puppy before re-homing.
Parental lines of our dogs are from different farms (not biologically related). And each dog is exposed to various livestock. This is a great opportunity for those who want to own this majestic, confident but very loyal working dogs on their property.

Also known as Maemma and Abruzzese Sheepdog, “the Italian dog”, the “white lions” or in Italian “I Leoni Bianchi”, Pastore Maremmano as well as Pastore Abruzzese. These dogs grow a wonderfully beautiful mane that along with their relatively flat head resembles the head of a lion. Confident and stunning; they roam their pasture and their property like kings of their castles. ATTENTIVE to the stock, PROTECTIVE of the stock, and TRUSTWORTHY with the stock. The ideal time for an inexperienced guardian owner to purchase a Maremma is as a recently weaned puppy so that it will bond strongly with its adopted family, its humans, and its territory as it grows. However, this also involves all the antics of puppy-hood; adolescence, and training in the “don’ts” of guardianship – it already knows all of the “do’s” and will develop them on its own if exposed at the right time to appropriate guarding situations. Maremmas become mature, fully developed guardians between a year to two but mostly will start their guarding duties around 6-8 months.
